McGee faces extortion, bribery charges

Milwaukee Ald. Michael McGee has been charged federally with extortion and bribery. He is accused of using his position to solicit bribes from businesses in his district under the promise of using his influence in licensing matters.


Suddenly my feelings of despair about Milwaukee's future have lessened.  Cause any day without the Junior McGee in city hall is a day the city has improved.  (those not familiar with Milwaukee politics might recall the Senior McGee making national headlines by gleefully disparraging the recently departed mother of talk show host Charlie Sykes a few weeks ago.)  Apparently there's something to that apple not falling far from the tree thing...

Rumor on the street is that the businesses being extorted finally had enough when McGee tried to foist his "don't snitch" T-shirts on them.   Tee hee.  Is that cosmic justice er what?
