Oh, That Kind of Change

And here I was thinking Sen Obama's endless blather about change had something to do with Washington culture or somesuch.  Judging by his recent performance it appears to be more about his amazing ability to change his mind.

First we have McCain Invites Obama On Iraq Junket - Political Machine

and I've got to include the zinger of the year

"Why is it that Senator Obama wants to sit down with the president of Iran but hasn't yet sat down with General Petraeus, the leader of our troops in Iraq?"

Brilliant.

Then, a whiny response  The Raw Story | Obama camp accuses McCain of 'politicizing' troops ...

Followed by political butt covering  Obama May Visit Iraq, But Not With McCain, Democrat Says He Is ...

Reminds me of the old Ella Fitzgerald song What Are You Gonna Do? ...

First you say you do but then don't

then you say you will but then you won't

Make up your mind, what are you gonna do?

This might be the finest piece of political jujitsu we have seen by any candidate so far.  Stunt or not McCain could not have used a better tactic to expose the corner Obama has painted himself into.  Even if Obama had the gumption to visit Iraq, given the drastic and irrefutable improvements there, he would not have the, dare I say it, audacity to continue the all-is-lost-get-out-now narrative that carried him through the Democrat primary.  To do so would be to expose himself as the say whatever it takes poser he is.

Advantage McCain.  This week at least.

The more I watch Obama the more I am convinced he's a black Jimmy Carter without the executive experience.
