Audacity, Chutzpah Whatever...

Time for more fun with words.  Today's word is AUDACITY, which Encarta defines here:
audacity:
1. boldness or daring: daring or willingness to challenge assumptions or conventions or tackle something difficult or dangerous

2. impudence: lack of respect in somebody's behavior toward another person
(impudent: rude: showing a lack of respect and excessive boldness)

Example:
A President who whines about inheriting a $1 trillion debt on Monday and introduces a $3 trillion budget on Wednesday.

This reminded me of another word;
Chutzpah:
1. self-confidence: boldness coupled with supreme self-confidence
2. rudeness: impudent rudeness or lack of respect

The classic definition of chutzpah is the guy who kills his parents, and then pleads for mercy on the grounds that he is an orphan.

Now I ask you; is that any less absurd than a politician who tries to have us believe we can spend our way to prosperity?

Reminds me of another word:
Gullible: per Webster:
1. Easily duped or cheated.

Example: 53% of the American electorate November 2008.
